Job Title:      Pharmacy Clerk

Reports To:  Chief Pharmacist, Staff Pharmacist

 

Summary

The pharmacy clerk’s primary responsibility is customer service.  Being aware of all customers in the pharmacy area, acting as a first contact with pharmacy customers, and being helpful and courteous to those customers at all times.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Prescription Intake. This includes new prescriptions, refills, and informing patients of expected wait times.

2. Cash Register.  This includes ringing up prescriptions, delivers, mail-outs discounts, and drive-thru.

3. General customer care. Customer care is the clerks’ first priority.  This may include managing complaints, returns, and monitoring wait times to ensure quick and quality service for all customers.

4. Cleaning and keeping the pharmacy looking neat.

5. Taking care of all drive-thru customers.

6. End of night procedures.

7. Stocking Supplies

8. Organize and file prescriptions.

9. Any duties or requests made by the supervising Pharmacist on duty or store Manager.

Physical Demands

  1. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. 
  2. Operation of office machinery and pharmacy equipment.
  3. Occasionally lift/move items up to 40 lbs.
  4. Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision.

**Schedule is primarily Monday through Friday 9 am to 5 pm. Possibility of one to two evenings per week when needed.
